 He is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University where he received a Bachelors of science in Business Management and Entrepreneurship. He received is associates in applied science of funeral services at Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. He is a member of Magnolia Highland Baptist Church of Mansfield, LA. JaVorius takes great pride in serving families and is willing to help in anyway he can.

Secretary Evelyn E. Syrie, CFSP

 Evelyn E. Syrie was a graduate of Paul Breaux High School in Lafayette, LA , graduating 3rd in her class. She completed her university studies at the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette) with both a Bachelor of Arts Degree and Master of Education Degree with a concentration in Social Studie

 Evelyn E. Syrie was a graduate of Paul Breaux High School in Lafayette, LA , graduating 3rd in her class. She completed her university studies at the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette) with both a Bachelor of Arts Degree and Master of Education Degree with a concentration in Social Studies Education – European History and Sociology. In 1969 she embarked on a 30 year teaching career, her first love, at Comeaux High School in Lafayette Parish. During her thirty years, she taught American History, World History, Civics/Free Enterprise and Geography and was head of the Social Studies Department for more than 20 years. She helped to start the Washington, D. C. Close-Up Program and initiated the European Travel Program for students. She served on the Lafayette Parish and Louisiana State Department of Education Curriculum Writing teams for American History and World History. She was selected as a New Teacher Mentor and New Teacher Assessor for Lafayette Parish. She continued to be a New Teacher Assessor for Lafayette Parish until 2006. Her professional affiliations included the National Education Association, Louisiana Association of Educators, The Louisiana Council for the Social Studies and others. Upon her retirement from teaching in 1999, she joined her siblings in the funeral business, Syrie Funeral Home of Lafayette, LA started by her father, Carol Syrie, Sr.(with the support of her mother, Mrs. Sedonia Gray Syrie), as secretary/bookkeeper of the Syrie Corporation and funeral home. After completing her internship and obtaining her Funeral Director’s license in 2001, she began her second, much loved career. She became actively involved in several professional and civic organizations. She also directs and represents the family’s community service efforts through the Greater Southwest Louisiana Black Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce(now One Acadiana) and the Board of Directors of the North St. Antoine Services, Inc. As Executive Secretary of the Louisiana Funeral Directors & Morticians Association, she has represented the group by serving on the Delgado Community College Funeral Service Department Board of Advisors and the Louisiana State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors Special Committees (Pre-Need / Funeral Rule). She is also a proud member of the Southwest Funeral Directors & Morticians Association, the National Funeral Directors & Morticians Association (serves on the Board of Directors), Life Member of One Hundred Black Women of Funeral Service,
